What to do in Stockholm


Stockholm is home to several excellent museums including the Museum of National Antiquities. The City Hall was voted Sweden's most beautiful building and boasts a sparkling lounge of glass and gold mosaics and a tower providing breathtaking views over the city.

Stockholm is a shoppers' paradise and the variety of outlets is endless, with designer boutiques and trendy fashion shops on every corner.

Tourist Attractions


One of the most popular attractions in the city is Kungliga Slottet. This 17th century building is the largest royal castle in the world. It has more than 600 rooms and the Apartments of the Royal Orders of Chivalry and the Hall of State are open to the public. The Stadshuset is another important historical sight in the city.

Strolling around the old town and along the small islands and parks is the best way to really absorb Stockholm's ambience, and its laid back people. You will find many parks and walking trails.

There are more than 10,000 islands surrounding the greater Stockholm area, all of which offer great day trips. The majority of the islands are very small yet there are several charming places you can access by ferry. Some ferry companies operate fixed-route or tour rides to a selection of popular destinations.
